I’m exaggerating a lot here lol

There is a lot of really bad political takes on Lemmy. But I’m unsure if it has anything to do with Lemmy and that it’s just the effect of having people argue on the internet.

The most extreme and loud voices will always dominate on the internet it seems. And most normal people will have more important stuff to do than argue with people on the internet.

It doesn’t help with some of the developers of Lemmy also are pushing pretty extraordinary stuff.

But I’ve never really used Reddit or anything similar so I just have to acclimate. Although I’m curious if I’m in the minority of feeling this when following political stuff on Lemmy.

Yeah, I agree with that. Lemmy and the fediverse is really good at regulating far right speech.

What started my my impression and continued feelings being here was discovering stuff like a lot of people on some groups not acknowledging current and historical genocides, and discovering basically legitimate tankies.

It’s not on purpose to be vague, but if I feel like calling out specific people doesn’t really help.

But I do agree, Lemmy is a very well made project and has a lot of potential.

ahhh I see, yeah I don’t mean you to call out individuals, just what generally is the problem, and tankies…do ignore some critical histories and ignore calls to acknowledge it. Okay, you have a good point about being sus here, but agree lots of potential!
