I’m exaggerating a lot here lol

There is a lot of really bad political takes on Lemmy. But I’m unsure if it has anything to do with Lemmy and that it’s just the effect of having people argue on the internet.

The most extreme and loud voices will always dominate on the internet it seems. And most normal people will have more important stuff to do than argue with people on the internet.

It doesn’t help with some of the developers of Lemmy also are pushing pretty extraordinary stuff.

But I’ve never really used Reddit or anything similar so I just have to acclimate. Although I’m curious if I’m in the minority of feeling this when following political stuff on Lemmy.

I’ve mostly noticed a few comments defending China from some communists and got a quite quick ban from that sublemmy, but that’s silly and not something I’d take very seriously.

Ahh, ok. And that is probably the reason https://lemmygrad.ml/ exists now? It’s a place I’d like to keep some distance from with some of the stuff I’ve seen posted there.

But you are probably right in that I let the stuff get to me too much.
