"How do you convert seconds to microwave time? let’s say you have 60 seconds that would be 00:60 but if you have 61 seconds then it would be 01:01

What’s the wizardry /g/?"

60 seconds can have a totally different meaning from 1 minute. First, there are leap seconds, which cause a minute to have 61 (or more rarely, 59) seconds. Second, 1 minute conveys a different amount of accuracy than 60 seconds does. Just like you don’t measure house sizes in micrometers and the width of a hair in meters.

There’s been 27 leap seconds since 1972. That’s not going to make a big difference in how my microwave heats my food.
