Sounds like it costs as much effort as big social needs it to be.
I am not expecting people to reverse engineer websites to get an actual link to source. You can still copy pictures but sites have been making that harder lately.
From a technical viewpoint nothing stops us from having right click or long press -> copy source; besides capitalism.
memes are a form of media that we share, they are social media.
But there is also social media in the sense of tech monopoly owned webspace.
I much prefer if we could just copy the actual video rather then having people go somewhere else.
