A broken link wouldn’t work at all. When my tool fails to find a specific image on danbooru, my tool falls back to linking to the artist tag instead (as long as the tag is in my database of artists).
I had a bug for a bit where my tool would fail to parse danbooru ID’s, so there are some posts in the queue for which a danbooru entry for the piece does exist.
I know it’s not broken in the sense of a 404; I meant broken in the sense your tool didn’t seem to be doing what it usually does. That’s why I specified in the parenthetical.
