Columbus doesn’t deserve honour. Nor a place on the coat of arms. Columbus was an asshole. History still happened. Trinidad now chooses who / what they wish to celebrate and honour. History is not deleted.

My interpretation:
History happened.
That doesn’t change.
Changing symbols doesn’t change that.
Columbus doesn’t deserve honour. Nor a place on the coat of arms.
Columbus was an asshole.
History still happened.
Trinidad now chooses who / what they wish to celebrate and honour.
History is not deleted.
