It’s still possible that the Democratic Party leadership will pull themselves together and change course. Even if they do, the fact that it has taken so long already shows how dangerous it is to depend on them—or on any politicians.

My note on this: I don’t find it very likely they will pull themselves together. I find it borderline impossible. Visit any liberal space, and you’ll find people sticking their heads in the sand or making pathetic absurd claims about things Biden has allegedly “accomplished,” which, if you scratch the surface, turn out to be misrepresentations or even complete fabrications. “Biden has forgiven student loan debt” – for something like 0.01% of a select few from carefully chosen demographics, they won’t say. “Biden has supported immigration under DACA” – while deporting more immigrants than Trump and disseminating the “border crisis” myth, they won’t say.

They’re right about one thing: Biden has done a lot. A lot of irreparable harm. And as the article points out, this is not just about Biden. It’s about our entire system.
