There have been a bunch of posts and articles about this. I don’t know why it keeps getting reposted on lemmy tbh. Both sides are complete dicks. From what I understand, the “poor victim” was the initial asshole and both sides have kept escalating it.
I feel like you could put this keyboard on an armband, Pip-Boy style.

If I thought that ICE/DHS/etc actually cared about and followed the law, it would help sure. Right now I’m just trying to limit where we go, especially the kids alone, and try to help people that I can. I’m not personally in danger of deportation, so I can help with far less danger than a lot of people, but man, it sucks.
Making your own AI variations was one of the coolest things about SupCom.

In no coincidence, ICE was literally circling the areas around the schools yesterday. We decided to pick up our youngest early because of it.

No, it probably affects tifa and aerith saves as well.

The Zelda series has always been tried new things so I don’t think I’d put it in the same category as Pokemon, but BOTW and its sequel sold quite well, so I don’t think they will go the direction I’d have preferred. As a weird coincidence, yesterday my wife asked if I’d set up the NES Classic and she and the kids played SMB, Dr Mario, and other classics. Nintendo really was in a class of its own back then.
I just came here to say this. Anyone thinking otherwise could end up in mortal peril.

Yeah, they definitely aren’t for me anymore. I will definitely miss the Xenoblade games, but that’s about it. The last first party series that kept my interest were the Zelda games, but I really didn’t care for the last two. They just weren’t what I wanted in a Zelda game, they felt like Zelda themed open world sandbox games that were just OK. I probably would have liked them more if they hadn’t carried the name and baggage of my favorite Nintendo series.

I have quite a few!
I believe I mentioned many of them in my original comment, but I’ll list some of my completely subjective gripes here:
The Switch tries to be two consoles and ends up just being too many compromises while still being quite expensive. Add on to Nintendo’s knack for price gouging for games and accessories/replacements and I am just done with them. If they had released an “unSwitch” or something that just had a regular controller like the “pro” controller that was stationary and thus lacked a screen, battery, joycons, an $80 dock, it would have been much better for the half of the users that didn’t or couldn’t use it as a handheld and could have been cheaper. It still wouldn’t fix the performance stuff, but it wouldbe easier to forgive if it had been a budget console, not one that the previous gen of consoles trounced.

I love this story. Here is one of mine.
SCENE: The year is 1993, the hottest BBS door game is Usurper and the players on the local BBS are very, very competitive. How can I possibly do better? Well, the answer is obvious, I need to setup my own BBS with Usurper and figure out the exact perfect methodology within the game to become the stronger. So I do so, and I then write some text macros to handle some of the more tedious tasks I would do every single day when the turns reset. Eventually my character far outpaces everyone on the server with a wider gap every day and our group dominates the server. My team mates don’t like that I am so much stronger and decide to boot me from the team, but fail to kill me. I then make a team of one and wipe them and every one else out every day for two weeks until they decide to reset the game. I have become the usurper.

I didn’t see any 19.2k modems until 92-93 and I was obsessed with finding one, so that’s either very impressive or another case of one of us remembering poorly as alluded to in the post. :)

You’re more or less right, 9600bps modems did exist in the late 80s, but no mere mortal owned them 14.4k came not long after and became really common. I actually saved up and got one of the first 19.2k modems on the market when I was a teen in 93 or so, but almost nothing was compatible with it so it was usually just 14.4k or 9600 if you tried to connect to anything.
Technically, its gets weird because in the late 80s baud and bits per second kind of diverged because of the way the protocols were able to encode data better. I don’t think anything actually went higher than 2400 baud though we kept using baud and bps interchangeably.

Yeah, no one sane was still using a 300 baud modem in 1990. 1200 and 2400 baud would have been the bog standard.

Heh, there was definitely a lot more tomfoolery going on, but this person doesn’t seem the type to engage in such. It was honestly amazing and I miss it.

Just to extend your comment a little, I don’t think most people that know what MUDs were are aware there was a singular game that they were named after. The game MUD spawned a genre, called “MUDs” obviously, just like Rogue did, which lead to “roguelikes”.

Agreed.

The Xenogames were the only reason I even bought the Switch to begin with. I was, and still am, so disappointed with that console. No chance I am buying a Switch 2 for more Xenoblade games this time. I would love for them to become detached from Nintendo honestly. Sony and MS are at least receptive to PC ports, with Nintendo they are forever trapped.
The nytimes didn’t even mention that the protests were throwing dildos at ICE? What lame ass reporting.
