  • I dislike both, but am still voting. In first-past-the-post, I end up voting against the worst choice in the presidential election which means I must choose the other candidate that has a chance of winning. I hate that it’s this way, but neither not voting nor voting for a third party in this presidential election will change that. I can’t wait until we have actual ranked-choice/star/etc. voting and get rid of FPTP. I do vote for the most progressive candidates regardless of affiliation in local elections but, well, it’s a rural red-state district so that’s unfortunately not a high bar (and I live overseas so the amount I can be directly involved in anything is quite limited).

  • Will do. This morning I have work to do outside.

I will also note that there are three patterns when I post a comment that may or may not be related:

    • it just publishes when I hit the button
    • I hit the button, it thinks for a second, and then the button is intractable again. Pushing it again works so far in every case (i.e. it seems something goes wrong but no UI error. I haven’t had dev tools open to see what happens there. This feels like it took to long for me to reply in some cases, but not all).
    • I hit post and get moved to a new page which is just my post with a preview. I’m not sure if this is just how it works with certain sites or something or also related.

The only time I ever liked plain milk was still warm out of the cow. These days, I just don’t drink milk except for a very rare (couple of times a year) chocolate milk or milkshake where I don’t taste the milk itself, really.

Breed and diet definitely impact milk flavor and fat percentage, but some types of pasteurization seem to as well.

This is not an endorsement to drink milk that has not been pasteurized.

Aside from that, particularly with regard to colostrum, some people think treating the milk can damage things. As mentioned, I’m not a milk drinker to begin with, but I have no idea if (a) there are any studies showing benefits or even effects of drinking colostrum, particularly as an adult and from something other than a human or (b) regardless of point a if there is even any study on heat damaging it. I watch a lot of farming/homesteading content and some people are really into this.
