Really like the worldwide Wednesday idea.
We’re still complaining about auto tune in 2023? It’s popular cause a lot of people like it. Maybe there’s some perceived lack of authenticity, but I’d equate it to not liking electric guitars, Its an effect that changes the character of the sound and some people like it, others not so much. But it’s definitely been the predominant sound for the last decade.
Some of your examples are a bit much, and I think particularly for those artists voices it’s a bit grating, but I think that has more to do with them than the effect itself
1.5 Listens in I kind of have mixed feelings, I like the new sounds he is exploring but I think some of the aspects that made ASTROWORLD so great are really missing here. The sequencing of the tracklist feels almost like listening to an album on shuffle, and Im finding the mix is really inconsistent throughout. For example compare Travis’s vocal levels on SIRENS vs GODS COUNTRY or TELEKENISIS. Also there was a number of moments where I was surprised how muddy everything was sounding.
Additionally I don’t know if there is too many standout moments here or songs I know I’m going to be coming to for awhile.

Oof, sorry! Just saw your post here. I just pasted over the Dropwatcher list into a new thread. Thanks for putting this together. I’ll try to do a cross reference of the two lists and combine them
I would use Discussion just for purely discussion threads, e.g. “[DISCUSSION] Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly 10 year anniversary” Or “[DISCUSSION] What year had the best XXL freshman class?”
For news articles and music/music videos that aren’t fresh, I think they can be left tagless.
For some reason - any song from the Mac and Devon Go to highschool soundtrack (Snoop Dogg x Wiz Khalifa) makes me super nostalgic. My partner is super into tiktok and one of the songs is a tiktok trend at the moment. And we ended up watching the movie over the weekend, was a lot of fun. But yeah, those songs straight up transport me through time.
You guys are super welcome. Its about to become quite a bit more difficult though, as without Boost (which will die tonight), I’m honestly unsure how to copy the source markdown of comments. I will be looking into ways to do this though. So don’t worry.
This makes me so happy. It’s honestly (one of) the main things lemmy is missing right now - a highly polished user experience. All the mobile apps ive tried have a ton of problems, the web interface is aight. Boost for reddit is (was in a couple hours) the best reddit experience available. So i have full faith this will become the best lemmy app available.
I feel like he is a little underrated in terms of sales and recognition. He’s great but i think he needs to continue branching out and get his voice in more earballs.
Hmm, it is pinned. Is it not showing as pinned for you?
Who in your opinion, is the most underrated artist at the moment, and why?
This post isn’t against any rules but i think it is a little too vague to inspire much response. Maybe include some examples of what kind of artists you’re looking for.
There’s a few moments on here I’m not completely vibing with just yet. But all around one of my favorite thugger albums in awhile. Lots of versatility on the production side. Loving thug’s flows and delivery throughout here as well. I feel like all the features brought their A game. Its still early to tell where this will rank in terms of thug projects for me, but I’m definitely going to be playing this one a lot for the next few weeks.
Calvin Harris - Funk Wav bounces Vol 1/2 i kind of feel like it’s the epitome of summer.
Bad Bunny - un verano sin ti
Joey Bada$$ - All-american bada$$
I feel like most Kanye and Travis Scott albums are more summery than wintery
Brockhampton - saturation series
That is some great information, thank you!
I’m know I’m super late to the Rxk Nephew train but I just randomly stumbled upon American Tterroristt when Spotify started auto playing stuff while I was working. I’ve seen him pop up here and there before and didn’t really click with it, but this song - while there’s a few questionable lines - was probably the most hilarious and enjoyable listen I’ve had in years. I completely lost focus on what i was working on and just starting laughing uncontrollably.
For what its worth I was able to log in today on Atom after whatever happened with boost. So it can work, might be worth trying again
