Masks barely do anything for these flu germs. Wtf this community is on another planet. Stop watching cnn and go outside.
One of my favorite features is that the app remembers where you are in the comments If you return to that particular post. What an amazing detail and excellent app thank you developer.

One would think that the current Liberal CRTC would be better at maintaining competition than the previous Conservative CRTC, and yet here we are. start.ca is now telus, and teksavvy is soon to be… Rogers? Bell? Viacom?
Fuck it, bring on Starlink!
The admin has attempted to give us a serious role in this instance. The least we can do is elevate our language and tone while we are contributing.
I’m not sure what’s more subjective to judge a person’s intent or to judge their use of certain words. Anyways point well taken.
this is required in the near future, IMO, if this community is to have any value at all!
This makes sense to me. I have to wonder how fast this community will be sidetracked with pointless comments if people wander in thinking it’s the ‘main’ sub. My thinking was - if you shouldn’t say it in a parliamentary setting, it should not be said in the Agora. Aw but that’s not fun! one might think… again I would say take it to main street. just my opinion.

I think vulgarity / obscene language is a pretty objective category. As opposed to ‘keep things constructive’ which can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
I would agree with this statement.
I would argue that the language you have just employed in your example is not appropriate for the Agora as it detracts from the purpose of the community. Take it to main street.

Thanks!
I’m interested in helping to mod The Agora.
Despite ongoing monopolization and domination of the free internet today, I personally still believe in the potential of technology to democratize institutions and I think a platform like lemmy is uniquely suited to develop and promote a powerful form of representative democracy.
I haven’t really modded any kind of forum in the past, but I am motivated to commit my time and interpersonal skills to the development of this community.
I support free speech as long as it does not break any laws. I am a long time redditor. I witnessed digg destroy itself, and for many years I have been disappointed in how a centralized reddit has become captured by corporate power.
Concerning the potential of sh.itjust.works/c/agora, I currently see the community as being more suited to discussion, and I’m not entirely sure how we could apply this site in it’s current form to the process and procedure of voting on policy. It may be useful to consider moving the actual voting to a decentralized platform that is designed around voting on specific items. Something on a blockchain? A DAO application?
Anyways, please let me know if I can be of service to this unique experiment in representative democracy and self-government.
Lots of warmongers here who call themselves left libs… do we want a nuclear war? Raise your hand if you supported the iraq war and also voted biden.
