Never seen one. But I can imagine some being useful. Bridge bots to autopost from other sources, translate bots or reference bots (like Wikipedias “Linky”), for example.
Information Science is what you need to know!
What’s missing in the preview: “It currently supports the GitHub, GitLab, and Gitea APIs.” Upvote!
Looks like a classic piece of corporate misinformation, with the right selection of sources every conclusion is possible. That it is only accessible behind a Springer paywall doesn’t make it any better. From the Competing Interests section:
A.G. is a Project Manager at the Nuclear Innovation Alliance, a non-profit think tank that conducts policy analysis, research and education to support nuclear power as a global solution to mitigate climate change.
Just an idea, there are tons of rss clients for other fediverse services (e.g. Mastodon). Maybe it would be possible to fork one of those and replace the posting code with lemmy. Or, on a more meta note, write a bot that reposts and account from another service, and just use one of the many bot instances already existing.
The argument that “wind turbines are ugly” is flawed already, but it gets completely ridiculous when you look at wind turbines near an open coal mine. https://www.mv-online.de/in-und-ausland/nrw/proteste-am-tagebau-garzweiler-kohlegegner-festgesetzt-354726.html
You seem to be using version 0.7.0 (thats currently availably from f-droid, for example). There was a breaking change in the server, so you need to get 0.8.0 (e.g. from the Play Store) to connect to the server.
Never mind, I’ve seen the problem was already reported here. https://lemmy.ml/post/148716
I’ve just noticed that the current version 0.7.0 on f-droid can’t connect to lemmy.ml, whereas 0.8.0 from the Play Store can.
