  • I don’t have T anymore so the hair loss has stopped, but what’s gone ain’t coming back. I tried Minoxidil and the results weren’t worth the hassle.

I’m already too far gone for a scalp advancement, and hair transplant is beyond my means. Plus the outcomes seem to vary depending on how good a surgeon you can afford, putting it further out of reach.

Thanks nonetheless. Just felt like venting. Hair sucks, both in its paucity and in its excess.

  • There’s a huge difference between homebrew (tea, otokonoko etc.) and grey market (like ihp) sources, but the article ignores this. Only in the former case is quality control potentially an issue, and community testing efforts can obviate that considerably. Plus, it’s obvious that the people selling homebrew really know what they’re doing and are working in good faith.

As for medication management, anyone can order a blood test and endos often work off the same publicly available treatment guidelines to which individuals also have access.

Really, the DiY movement is about the democratization of medical care. Articles that try to sow doubts are counterproductive, even if well-intentioned.

  • From personal experience: if you stop HRT you turn back into a pumpkin.

I stopped after a couple years on hormones and pretty much everything reverted (except breast growth).[EDIT: Over the course of a year or so,] Body and facial hair came back in full force (on face only where it had been lasered, but electrolysis’d portions remained bare). Hair on my head resumed its retreat. My member grew back to normal size and I started producing sperm (didn’t test for motility). Quality of orgasms changed, scent changed, and probably a bunch of other stuff I’m forgetting. Dysphoria massively increased.

Luckily a while later I went back on hormones and everything sorted itself out. I got an orchiectomy to ensure this never happens again, highly recommend it. Quick, simple surgery with almost no recovery time, that doesn’t impact eligibility for GRS later on.

[EDIT]: All that happened after being off HRT for a year or two. If you just end up going off titty skittles for a couple months, you’re probably fine. Wanted to clarify.
