7·2 months agoLogseq might be a good option for you. You create “graphs” for a topic. Markdown notes for that “graph” are separated into “pages” and “journals.” For example, if you created a project called “cider_making”, you could create the following Markdown page files and save them in the pages directory: “Fuji Apple.md”, “cider press.md”, and “pectic enzyme.md.” If prefer to track notes in a journal format, your Markdown file would use the following format and be saved in the journal directory: “2026-02-19.md.”
Logseq is not cloud based. All files are stored locally to the machine you installed the software on. There are options to use a code repository to sync to other devices, but Syncthing can also be used to sync your notes. I’m using an rsync script to send notes I write on my laptop to my phone, living room computer, and file server. If I’m on a trusted computer on my network, I can use SSH X11forwarding to open the Logseq UI remotely to create new notes. Otherwise I can create a new page or journal Markdown file via SSH and vi. I’d just need to save the Markdown file in the appropriate journal or page directory to keep things organized. You can also host a webUI for your notes if you are so inclined.

1·3 months agoSomething like this might work better on an iPhone or non-Pixel Android device. I own a Pixel 6 Pro that supports the Qi2 charging protocol, but it didn’t work properly from my personal experience. It would charge very slowly (well below the speed of other Qi2 capable phones). If I happened to be streaming audio or watching a video while charging, the battery would continue to drain even though it was receiving power, and it would eventually start heating up.
I’m into it. Would make a great work device. The power keyboard product also looks like an interesting product.

Another creature from Japanese lore is the Tanuki. They are shape shifting raccoon/dogs that have magical expanding scrotums. Here is a scene from Pom Poko.
Soft Scrub with Bleach works well. Clean the sink with dish soap the best you can. Once it is clean, apply Soft Scrub with Bleach with a sponge and allow it to whiten for a couple of minutes before rinsing it off. I do this about once a month or whenever it starts to look scummy again.

1·7 months agoI was weirded out by the disappearing finger as well. There was a recent article in The Atlantic that mentioned Google had been testing AI to improve video clarity. It’s possible we are seeing a combination of that and motion interpolation artifacts like what was mentioned here. I used yt-dlp commands to download both the CNN video and the video from the white house channel. They both look less weird on a larger screen. That process was called out here.

It is possible they wanted to fire him anyway. My guess is that the code of conduct policy is only enforced when they want to oust someone at his level. He’ll likely get a massive severance package on the way out. Looks like Nestlé has been struggling this year.

2·8 months agoI really like my Framework 16 laptop. I’ve been using it for about a year now. The modular ports and easily upgradeable design were a major selling point for me. Video workflows work well via Kdenlive and ffmpeg, but you can also install Davinci Resolve with some additional configuration. I purchased the GPU upgrade (https://frame.work/products/16-graphics-module-amd-radeon-rx-7700s) and a handful of different port modules. My only dislikes are that it can get really hot from time to time and the GPU fans are pretty loud when they kick on. A coworker of mine has a Framework 13 laptop and seemed very satisfied with it.
