That ALL life will go extinct is hard to imagine, but many scientists do see a high chance that humanity is going extinct (due to climate collapse) or, at the very least a population collapse of >95% is certain to happen within 200 years.

Feet, yards, inches should be replaced by the metric system.

As a woman on Reddit isn’t pleasant.

Southern Blotting and RT-PCR certainly didn’t work for me.

Don’t cite messages from this obscure rightwing news source.

Schmootsching.

Left-Wing is a vague term, I consider myself leftwing, but you probably wouldn’t. Literally “wing” really means part of the left wing of a bird, so opposite of the Centre (body) and the wing on the right. There is no Leftwing™. What you are talking about is socialist, which is clearly defined; see eg Wikipedia; but even there you will see different flavors; social-demorates in Germany are still capitalists, whereas Die Linke are far more left wing; I’m doubtful they are 100% socialist though. Although I see myself as leftwing, I don’t see any future or anything compelling in socialism, I associate it with the USSR, and we all know where that ended for the workers.

About ten years ago there was an interesting documentary series on ARTE about this. One of the issues they mentioned is that big companies like Walmart basically own the entire food industry and they push small farmers and farm shops out of the market, and the US citizens are forced to consume processed foods, as they are the only options left, so a lot of frozen pizza etc, while fresh produce and fruits are simply no longer attractive to grow or ship; they are too expensive.

The old question “if a tree falls in a forest, and there’s nobody to hear it, did it really fall or even exist?” The question was often asked in psychology tests, as it gives a hint how the tester is thinking. There are two answers: in a subjective universe, the tree didn’t exist, and it didn’t fall. Objectively spoken: it obviously fell and existed. There exist probably a number of options between these extremes. Now, if you propose an object that has never ever been observed and will NEVER EVER be observable, I would suggest the question as to its existence is irrelevant as it is unanswerable, and questions that are unanswerable are, for most scientists (and rational human beings), uninteresting.
Highway to hell and loving every minute of it.

Die Leute, die Hitler gewählt haben, waren auch nicht alle Fascisten. Trotzdem danke 🤬😠

I find questions like these more and more upsetting. I’ve posted several articles on Lemmy and other platforms that show how the USA is rapidly sliding into a fascist state, the breakdown of democracy is horrifying, and also directly affects the wellbeing and security of the countries US Americans are visiting as tourists. And all the US tourists that come over here say: well, I didn’t vote Trump (which nobody can check, can we? We just have to believe it). We all know USAmericans are not particularly blessed with vacation days, but wouldn’t they be BETTER spent in creating political initiatives in the USA? By God, man, you may be lucky you can actually re-enter the USA when you come back, and if the midterms go topsy-turvy (and rest assured that Trump will do anything to make them come out in his favor), you may well be seeking asylum in Europe or Australia in 2 years time! So, instead of thinking about what kind of silly hat to wear abroad, stay home and do something, a couple of things against trump’s fascism (end of rant).
Well: musk? His nazi salute? His nazi comments? Fits!

Racist means that you discriminate against people based on race.

Only in America!

And some say Germans have no sense of humor 😂🇺🇸
Visiting Mynia Egypt in the eighties (famed as a center of conservative Islam), the male students I met in the tea houses didn’t seem to mind to deepen their friendships.
Yes, scientists have reconciled with this. In fact, climate change is now an outdated term; it is called climate collapse, and scientists (across many disciplines), most (rational, non-populist) politicians and citizens acknowledge that the dramatic effects are omnipresent.
