I’m not sure. I’ve always wanted something like Plex but for games.

What about Sunshine and Moonlight? This is something I’ve been mildly interested in for a while but never took a deep dive.

Someone posted a fixed link and it opens just fine in a browser with good ad blocking.

The were such a good band!

Thinkcentre Tiny, Dell Optiplex Micro, or HP ProDesk Mini. Prices have gone up the last few months but they’re still a solid value. Most sellers ship pretty quick these days.

That was peak Ubuntu for me. I actually do mostly like where Gnome ended up but it just felt so new and fresh at the time. Until 2002, I had only ever used Windows and old Macs. When I saw what FOSS could be and Ubuntu then made it really easy, my mind was blown.

I couldn’t have said it better.

Snaps are the big one. I know Pro is free for the average users but imagine if they didn’t put security updates for the universe repos behind that sign up? I understand that they didn’t get those updates before Pro but imagine if they just gave those updates to all users. I still think it is one of the great all time distros. I just think their focus is more on enterprise than on the average user and I am nostalgic for those early days.

I stubbornly stuck with it until last year. I’d still recommend it to a new Linux user if they weren’t fans of Mint but I feel like Mint has more of that old Ubuntu spirit. Ubuntu is one of the greatest distros ever in my opinion, and I get that Canonical is a business and has to make money, but what if they had maintained that focus on Linux for human beings.

I didn’t see Orban mentioned in the article. What is his role in it all?
The gaming industry turned its back on gamers a long time ago by making it difficult to truly own a game. It’s no wonder people want to go back and play old games that don’t rely on a server somewhere that could be shutdown at any point.

Well TIL. That is pretty damn shitty.

According to “sources” and links to post on X. So did they copy her actual music and lyrics or just her style? As far as I’m aware you can’t copyright a style. I hate AI but this story seems made up.
Is that XFCE and if so, how do you like it with touchscreen and trackpad gestures? In my experience, Gnome is best for that use. If you like Mint, maybe give Debian with Gnome a shot. If you want to explore outside of the Debian tree, maybe Fedora Workstation.
Looks like XFCE

Pennsylvania is considering this as well. Pretty cool.

Why does this post feel like spam? I don’t personally trust Telegram (which is not fully open source) and chose Immich. It works cross platform and my whole family can use it. It’s self hosted so I don’t have to worry about whatever shenanigans someone is up to on some remote server.

Absolute classic!
Purchasing is an opt in too. I use both but paid for a Plex lifetime pass almost 10 years ago. It was easier to set up remote access. Setting up a server was new to me at the time so anything I could find that made it easier was worth it. I also bought an unRAID lifetime pass for the same reason (among other reasons).
