karburator@lemmy.worldOPto Cars - For Car Enthusiasts@lemmy.world•My NC2 and friend's NB2English2·2 years agoThanks! They definitely are, and I’m not even one bit subjective :)
karburator@lemmy.worldMtocar talk@lemmy.world•For the folks who have driven multiple cars, which was your favorite?English0·2 years agoAnyway, if you’ve driven multiple cars, which one(s) have you loved the most?
I’ve just sold my (well not mine anymore :')) NB Miata this morning.
I had it for three years and it’s the car that “started it all” for me:
- I met one guy whom I barely knew who also had an NB Miata, then the other one, who also had a friend with a Miata, and yadda yadda yadda, we now have an unofficial Miata club, we regularly go on drives, we hang out, help each other with car repairs, etc.
- My girlfriend and I went on so many road trips and enjoyed every minute of it.
- This car also re-ignited my passion for cars, so thanks to it, at some point I also bought my childhood-dream car: EF Civic (and I’ve sold it a year later; even though it was my childhood dream, it was pale compared to the NB).
Today I’ve sold my NB, but I will always remember it and all the good times in it.
(But don’t worry, I’m still driving a Miata — NC2 :))
karburator@lemmy.worldto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Subreddits you are going to miss?English8·2 years agoJust pretty much all the car subs. I think that accounted for half my browsing.
Same here.
That’s why I created !cartalk@lemmy.world.
Since we are still a small community, I thought that we could have one community that covers several car-related subreddits. But currently, I’m the only poster there. Please change that :)

My recommendation is always the same, regardless of the language:
(And here is some dogfood: I’ve created !adventofcode@lemmy.world, so you can ask questions there and/or share your solutions)
karburator@lemmy.worldto Technology@beehaw.org•Site to track Subreddit's as they go dark6·2 years agoIs there a way to see what subs re dark out of the actual total?
https://blackout.photon-reddit.com
Choose ‘percent’ on the third card on the left.

Give yourself a day or two, and it will be a second nature to you. Speaking from my two-day experience :)
karburator@lemmy.worldOPto Formula 1@lemmy.world•[meta] Should we just use lemmy.ml's community?1·2 years agoLemmy.ml is overloaded
But that is (hopefully) just temporary and they will fix/scale it to work with all these new users coming in.
have explicitly stated to use other instances
I thought that was just for creating new user accounts (but I might be wrong). E.g. there are five new posts in last 8 hours and lots of comments, so it seems to be working fine.
Try giving it a different name
Yep, this did the trick. Creating a community with a different name was instant.
karburator@lemmy.worldto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Lemmy.world starting guideEnglish3·2 years agoI wanted to create something that would be car-related, replacing r/cars, r/Justrolledintotheshop, r/carporn, etc.
But does it matter? I click on ‘create’ and the button turns into spinning circle, and it’s been like that for more than an hour.
EDIT: It seems that c/cars was already taken (and not active), so I’ve created !cartalk .
karburator@lemmy.worldto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Lemmy.world starting guideEnglish1·2 years agoIs creating new communities currently broken (overwhelmed server?) or is it just me?
I’m trying to create a community, but the ‘create’ button just turns into a spinning circle, and nothing happens. I’ve left that tab open for more than an hour.
So insteat, here’s my first comment.
NB2: different front lights, different front bumper, different rear lights
NC2: different visuals (lights, front bumper) + lots of differences underneath: http://www.roadster.blog/2013/08/the-2009-roadsters-facelift.html
