I think you are confusing the actions of the unelected SCOTUS who routinely takes actions against the will of the people. If Biden wants to stop unilateral actions, he literally needs to fight against this far right SCOTUS.

The president is the most powerful person in this country. He is explicitly empowered by Congress to forgive student debt. The only actor here that is limited in power is our SCOTUS who constantly over step their bounds, make up judicial theory out of whole cloth, or ignore their own rules.
How come I never hear the experts say they are limited power in these executive vs judicial debates?

If Biden had the choice between one broad fix that was easily communicated vs dozens of micro reforms; I’d prefer the broad reform even if I didn’t personally qualify. Democrats are our only hope and if they stop tripping over their own feet it will be better for everyone.
The problem with this debt forgiveness by a thousand cuts is spending hours researching it then finding out you arbitrarily don’t qualify because some highly technical reason.
This technocrated BS isn’t helping any but the lucky few that end up qualifying.
American power only rewards those that don’t threaten it and punishes those that do.
The left is the last hope America has to reform anything in a positive direction, but sadly liberals would rather abide power than join the left and transform our collapsing system into a force of good.

I highly recommend this podcast. He does a great job of differentiating what the different authors say and what are his own opinions. And he adds corrections to the episode when listeners point out his mistakes. The French, Haitian, 1848, and Russian revolutions really changed how I see the world. Be warned, they can hit dozens of episodes each.

We only saw the nurse once, low acuity, respiratory techs only giving him inhaler puffs, probably the healthiest kid in the hospital. Got a $17k bill and they wanted over $4k from me after insurance.
Also found out if they didn’t charged my insurance first, my total bill would qualify for 90% off. But that is a double edge sword because my insurance has a max out of pocket each year. The US is broken y’all.

Texas has significantly higher property taxes than California. So high in fact, many of the tech bros that moved out there and bought a million dollar home had a higher total tax burden even though California has higher income and sales taxes.
Don’t ever trust a cool guide to figure your taxes, just do the math yourself.
Also higher taxes can save you money in the long term if those taxes support things like infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Living in Texas, getting back 10-20% of your income back through lower taxes but receiving a fraction of the benefits of a social democracy in a Nordic country ain’t a fair trade for working people.
