The very reason we’re so good at treating cancer in rats.
Yeah, quick visual representation of something is where genAI really shines. You give it a prompt, it spits out an image, you tweak it a few times and there’s your slide 4 for a presentation.
Outsourcing your Defense Department to a foreign country is a choice. Not a smart choice, but a choice nonetheless.
Ironically I expect their business to go up (of the original couple that inspired the meme).
Astronomer was a name known mostly by people dabbling in Data Engineering, and even then not that well. Now the whole world knows about them.
It means max 220k, the big number is there to give false hope.
We don’t know 🤷
One of many remaining mysteries of the universe is what expansion really means. We can measure that it is indeed expanding, but we don’t know what’s driving the expansion (other than “dark energy” which is actually only a placeholder in equations).
We also have no idea about the size of the universe. Observable universe is just that - as far as we can see. But there is more beyond that we can’t see. There is no observable border to it, but we also can’t claim it’s infinite because there is a lot of proof for expansion.
The difference between being technically right and knowing how to communicate.
There’s like a 100 different ways to reject a PR without referring to a contributor as a moron.
I think lately Linus learned how to do it correctly without going on rants.
Some amateur comparative anthropology (me thinking about the current horse consumption) suggests horse meat taboo is an Anglo thing, not a Christian thing.
While horse is a secondary meat source everywhere, only in English speaking cultures like Britain and US do you get people horrified at the thought.
Now the open question is where does it come from? Did it arise during the conversion to Christianity, or does it have older roots.
Yes, the first half of my professional career. I went from nothing to working at the same level with the people on top of the system.
Which I all then promptly lost and now I work a shit job for shit money. One of many reasons I’m socialist leaning these days.
Oh, I didn’t follow it closely but I was convinced he was convicted of sexual abuse. I guess it just speaks about the power of public opinion even if you don’t get formally convicted. For better or worse.
Its easy if you have nothing to fear because you are already convicted
So I had to look up what an “autopen” is.
The US president not only has basically dictatorial powers to create laws (call them executive orders or whatever, they’re still laws), he can delegate the actual signing to someone else by a device that imitates signatures. So basically the idea of the president can create laws.
How was that ever a functional country …
Loud street beggars - never. They are usually members (or victims) of criminal organizations. Even if they are forced to do it, giving them anything only makes the business profitable for their bosses.
Poor people you know otherwise. Like for example a homeless person in your neighborhood who doesn’t usually ask for anything. Help them if you can, especially with non-monetary support. Food, clothes you don’t need, personal hygiene supplies, etc…
For all native English speakers, this is how the rest of us feel about any words in English
DoS on the universe
I mean it depends which ones are you watching.
True crime series usually deal with crimes where the perpetrator is undeniably guilty, and typically of very heinous crimes. It shows cases where the police is correctly doing what should be their job.
If there are any videos that show “we assaulted a random person on the street” type of police work in a positive way, I haven’t seen it yet.
Aliens? Egyptians need no aliens.
Even today Egyptian builders cheat laws of physics.
Absolutely true. Israel actions can stop a genocide. Like taking action to stop the one they are currently committing.
