There’s no question turnout is lower. Both Trump and Harris received fewer votes than Trump and Biden last time around. Neither of them are inspiring. Yeah Trump has a base, but a lot of Republicans don’t like him but some still voted for him. Harris was uninspiring and had a lot of baggage from the last 3 and 1/2 years. She would not have won a primary in my opinion, if Biden hadn’t insisted on going for a second term initially.

Not all states work the same. In Ohio I can just show up and tell them which one I want to vote in each time. I always vote in the Democrat or Republican primary, I get a voice without committing to one or the other.

Trump has said he’d veto a national abortion ban. No one seems to have a great solution for trans suicide at this point.

They just called Wisconsin for Trump which puts him over 270.

If Biden hadn’t insisted on running despite his declining mental state, she wouldn’t have won a primary, not very likely anyway. She is uninspiring and she carries the baggage of the struggling/non-existent middle class, housing market, 12 million border crossings etc.

I always vote for who I perceive as the lesser evil of the two. This year is no different. I’m not excited about what either candidate wants to fight for. I will oppose whoever is elected on multiple fronts.

Some of us are actually not Democrats or Republicans because we really think both sides are bad in different ways. I still voted though.

There are a few but I’d have to look it up just like you. But I have lived in Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Duesseldorf, Seattle. The ranked choice opinion comes from being someone who reads a lot and is generally anti-authoritarian. The US has two authoritarian parties.

Yes. And I love cilantro. Taste buds can be weird. If you’re just feeding yourself I’d say stevia recipes count but I wouldn’t serve it to a group of people.

I know there are people who aren’t supposed to eat sugar, but there really isn’t anyone who doesn’t like sugar. Maybe I’m wrong. If there are, probably very few. I know a ton of people who dislike stevia, it tastes like a chemical to them not a sweetener. I am one of them and I am not alone.

I was living in Germany in '88-'89 when the wall came down. You got me, I’m just out here destabilizing countries for hire. Actually I’m just an American who has lived in righty places and lefty places and it’s made me a proponent of ranked choice voting. I think we get railroaded into a choice between two shit shows every year.

There is no vote this election that will result in a better system. I’m not even sure there’s a vote that won’t result in a worse one.
