Zooming in, it looks like it’s maybe a seasoning blend of some kind.
I hope, for OP’s wife’s sake, that it’s not just black pepper!
At first I thought they just didn’t install the cooler, and figured… well, if the CPU didn’t come with one, I can see how one might overlook that, especially if they came from the olden days before coolers were mandatory.
Then I saw it… I honestly don’t know if mounting the CPU cooler as a case fan is better or worse!

5·7 days agoNo, he wants an official probe. It’s not gay if it’s being done by a duly appointed and qualified ass-prober.
Not regularly, but sometimes I’ll come back to work after a few days off, and find one of those threads of 200 emails pinging around chaotically.
In those cases, I’m happy to let Copilot try and figure out what the hell was going on. Worst case it gives me a dogshit summary and I’m no worse off.

Spaceships? ✅️ Gunfights? ✅️ Banging theme song? ✅️ Sarcastic loner captain?✅️ Will-they-wont-they hottie with her own shuttle? ✅️ Sassy corgi? Okay, I guess Firefly falls short there.

It’s perfectly fitting here, and also made me think of this clip
Nah, they are right. I’m probably solidly on the neurotypical scale by most counts, but the best I can do is accepting those thoughts or not allowing them to derail me–typical mindfulness stuff. But I’ve never heard of anyone being able to just turn off thinking on command (drugs don’t count).
The better analogy would be like being able to read the notification and put the phone back down.

…the danger one should normally face as a result of doing unconstitutional things.
If those icons reacted to taps and swipes like actual fluffy fabric, I’d move heaven and earth to install it on my phone.
Reminds me of the style of the recent Kirby games.
Porque no los dos?
People forget that we’re just animals with a teensy bit more awareness of our instinctual drives; and we have developed terms like “fun” and “love” and “joy” to describe the feeling we get when we engage with those drives successfully.
If a higher-level being were to observe humans dancing in a social situation, they might ask if we’re doing it for fun or as part of a mating ritual–neither would really be wrong.
There are two ways to parse this question, and one of them is 10,000% funnier than the other.
Meanwhile, an ancient Brother wifi laser printer that I haven’t used in 3 years and frankly forgot I had, moments after I clicked on it instead of “print to pdf”: whirrs to life 3 seconds later and prints a perfect smudge-free copy
I’m not going to claim to be a privacy/security expert here, but I think the question is “safe from who/what?” Privacy is a sliding scale with diminishing returns, so you need to set your expectations according to the level of effort you are willing to put in.
If you just want to not be tracked/profiled by commercial big data or standard governmental operations, then an old phone with no sim, wifi/bluetooth turned off, and using wired headphones removes you from a couple tiers of lowest-hanging fruit.
But if you think someone is specifically and actively tracking you in particular, that is a whole other question.

Good question. I believe the card companies used to have language in their agreements stating that vendors were not allowed to specifically charge fees for card usage. So you used to occasionally see places offering a discount for cash like you said.
But I have been seeing more and more places outright stating a card fee, so I wonder if those agreements have changed in the last several years.
Not sure where you are located, but A quick search says that there are some US states with laws banning card surcharges, but most allow them.
Unfortunately, you know those fees were baked into pricing structures long ago, so any place charging an extra fee for card usage is definitely double-dipping.
