Don’t ignore the flawed polling data his model is based on
2016 was dire, but Nate Silver is often wrong. Polling as it is done today is unreliable at best, and outright lies at worst.
Vote locally, build support networks and hopefully we can weather whatever comes.
Who exactly is included when you say theirs? Reactionary language regardless of target, scope or ideology is rarely productive.
Direct response to this https://www.newsweek.com/us-navy-monitoring-russian-warships-submarine-near-miami-1914616 and not much more than saber rattling
It’s a blessing and a curse how faithful this movie was to Klaus and Frank’s original artwork
There’s too much debris up there to do what you propose. The ISS would just be another nucleation point for more debris. We have TBs of data from the ISS and that’s where preservation efforts are being focused.

This is what I was referring to
https://newatlas.com/cleanspace-one-orbital-debris-satellite/38348/
And also the fact the Russians are creating clouds of space debris while they test anti satellite missiles
https://www.space.com/russia-anti-satellite-missile-test-first-of-its-kind
The joke/reference being that we should send up a couple cleanspace orbitals to decomm the satellites the Russians are using for target practice.
The best way to avoid all this space junk is to plan for decom at the initial steps for any satellite mission.
What ever happened to that Swiss space junk net? I feel like we could just go around and hoover up all the Russian satellites they seem to be using for target practice.
No gods, no masters, no borders, no censors.
Yeah that video essay is such a wild ride. I’m on the spectrum and I absolutely understand the emotional ties one can have to such esoteric hobbies, and how those emotions can twist relationships due to perceived slights and phantom insults.
Nobody hates Nerds like other Nerds.
LOVE what you cherry picked to respond to and completely ignored any direct response to my points. Those Boeing Billionaires are making it soooooo hard for the Russians to project their will against the world at large.
lol here’s the corrected article you couldn’t find https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham
I’ve edited my first post.
keep on trollin’
This is patently untrue, look to Syria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khasham or Africa https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/us-extra-troops-east-africa-sudan-evacuation-rcna80678 for examples of this. The US is able to project power globally in a way that Russia has tried to and simply cannot counter. https://www.usip.org/publications/2021/02/what-russias-endgame-syria or https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/5/24/how-russia-tried-to-colonise-africa-and-failed
Even Ukraine is projecting power in Sudan and Syria as a direct belligerent in opposition to Russian interest. https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-sudan-syria-cnn-russians-1907835
The United States spends in a year, what the rest of the world spends in 1.2 years. https://www.pgpf.org/chart-archive/0053_defense-comparison There is no historical analogue to the power of the United States military. Unfortunately, this is what we spend our money on instead of Universal Healthcare or our infrastructure, or our schools etc. etc.
Oh good, Nvidia stock is going to be 10% off.
Yes it does, in direct reply to what you said
There’s no world police to prevent Russia from nuking everyone.
The only reason we’re slow rolling Ukraine is because Russia has nukes. Here’s a great study on it. https://assets.cambridge.org/97811071/06949/frontmatter/9781107106949_frontmatter.pdf
The only thing that modern diplomacy teaches nation states today is that they need to get nukes as quickly as possible
The industry is moving into the space station space (pardon the pun). NASA is focused on a moon base now.

The ISS outlived it’s initial mission role almost a decade ago.
