  • On the bike I have an INNOVV K3 front and rear camera system, On my Shoei RF-1400 helmet, I have a chin mounted Runcam Thumb pro powered by a power bank via a USB cable that runs into my jacket. I’m relatively new to getting back on a motorcycle, but I’ve had dashcams in my cars for years and have learned firsthand how they can be a valuable asset.

  • I have a CR-10S Pro V2 and like you, just threw a spool of polymaker ASA on it, tweaked the stock profile with turning off the fan, setting retraction to 4mm, first layer nozzle/bed temp at 265 then 150, 105 then 90 and lowering the Z height on the printer by like 0.04mm for a good first layer adhesion/squish.

Before playing with anything but the retraction, my benchy would warp and detach at 0.2", right at the deck height. After turning off the fan, like you, i got an almost perfect benchy.

Feeling emboldened i jumped right into attempting a 12hr print of a car grill emblem, 0.16mm layer height that measured 3.5"x 9.5" x .675" and it would warp at about 2/3’s of the way through, even with a brim. The quality looked amazing up until the detach/warp. It happened at the same spot each time, a interior corner. I tried glue stick…nope, Aquanet hairspray was better, but the print still detached/warped each time in the same spot. It failed 4 times in all.

Last night I tried again, same print settings but with the addition of two things: a Comgrow tent enclosure (inside temp stabilized at ~40c) and a PEI steel plate bed from Creality.

This time it came out perfect, no warping! Gonna try the other half now.

If you get it dialed in, you should definitely reprint your fan shroud in ASA.

edit: I just double checked my PETG fan shroud and found that it melted, lol.

  • I’ve been tempted to do the same thing for years with my Hario Skerton and a Makita 12v driver drill. It’s 400ish cranks every morning. I would imagine a finer grind with an espresso bean would take you much longer. As it is, the morning grind is part of my routine and a much as automating the process, having my drill shared between the garage and the kitchen would introduce it’s own issues.

  • Dogs. I’m not an anti dog person, our most recent family dog passed away 5yrs ago and when i left for work, she would howl indoors loud enough for the neighbors to hear. 5 yrs later, i’m getting my due payback. The new neighbors on both sides of me have 3 dogs each that will run to the fence and bark when I go out back and also howl when their owners are away. Several houses down there is a family with a female pitbull that shrieks when she is left in their back yard. a really sweet dog, but has anxiety issues. Normally not an issue, unless it’s the summer and all your windows are open.

  • I dusted off a sealed roll of polymaker natural ASA for my CR10 V2 pro, trying to print parts for my motorcycle and cars that were previously printed in PLA+. So far a few large parts have warped about 2/3rds of the way through. I purchased a PEI magnetic bed and am now using an enclosure. The benchy i printed looks perfect tho. If i can get it dialed in, i think it will be my favorite.
