Whats up with Snowshoe Siamese that make them compulsively knead biscuits on soft things like that? Mine does exactly the same and he’s all serious business, if I pet him while he’s doing that he gets miffed af

I’d say keep that machine as is, and whenever you build a new one, just put whichever distro you like. If possible I’d roll back to win10 and after support ends, keep that machine VLAN’d off the internet. This way you turn it into a music production appliance without disrupting your workflow
I’m running vanilla Fedora 40. Haven’t installed that, and just checked and it’s not even on fedora’s repos
Don’t forget about the whole desktop rain effect!
Same here, tho sometimes it makes a tantrum and I need to verify files so it resets the prefix. Kinda annoying when the mates are ready to dive and I’m here scanning files for 5min to redownload 18kb
If using a somewhat modern distro, this isn’t an issue anymore (unless you run a really old OpenGL game).
I run my PC in this way with little to no performance degradation: monitors go to my motherboard (r5 2400g CPU with vega11 iGPU) and games use my RX 5700XT without having to do anything at all… Pretty smart handling tbh
Sadly unless you buy an old copy (on gog?) and use the WADs on gzdoom, doom is now Bethesda’s and they integrated the account system for all the old doom and quake titles
Who would dare to ask why
The archive file, right?
RIGHT???
I’ve used an A2 Olfa cutting mat for a long time (those dark green ones with the grid)
It was really beat up but the underside was pristine. Mice glided a lot. after getting a new mouse I decided to get a traditional cheapo deskmat because I didn’t want to wear the mouse skate pads.
E:D has its own can of issues, namely FDev. They tend to come out with half-baked content and never improve or refine it. I’ve never felt so ripped off by a purchase, after buying Horizons.
Other than that, I played a lot of Helldivers 1 and even though the war metagame was more “hands-off” (IIRC it was more like an RTS AI opponent), they managed to make it interesting and I trust their MO of dropping surprises for players and letting them be the “frontline media” showcasing new stuff.
We got surprised by a walker a few weeks ago and oh boy it was terrifying and memorable
By the amount of exploits and privilege escalations he pulls off (and the fact that everything is stuck in 1999) I’m almost positive that the matrix is running on some sort of WindowsNT
I just checked and at least on LineageOS 21 (android 14) you indeed can add specific apps (and notification categories, eg calls) to bypass do not disturb
Maybe a bit of a low tech solution, but I have an older RPI 3B running a second instance of PiHole.
Check out Emudeck. It will be far easier than doing each game by hand
If you’re on Linux, gnome-web uses the same engine as safari. And it’s a mess
Safari is the new ie6
Edit: also blink (used by anything chromium) is based off WebKit (safari)
I use scorcher/eruptor/dmr etc as the backup and stalwart+supply pack as primary. Setting the stalwart to the highest rpm is plainly awesome for suppressing bots and shredding chaff.
And now with the new supplies upgrade those 4 boxes on the backpack last me way past the cooldown for a new pack
That’s the point. A read only container to keep low hanging fruit at bay, and flatpak to distribute without having to repackage to every distro under the sun.
I don’t fuck with the game, the game doesn’t fuck with my system.
Indeed, tailscale/wireguard/zerotier are excellent options to keep only the bare minimum (or even nothing!) exposed to the world.
