Steam Hardware•Do we think the Steam Controller will sell out/be hard to get later?
2·1 month agoWhat I meant was that I think the initial enthusiasm towards the product will go way beyond the people considering getting a steam machine and wouldn’t think it odd for there to be some “sold out, next batch arriving in x” moments

Steam Hardware•Do we think the Steam Controller will sell out/be hard to get later?
1·1 month agoI don’t know anyone who intends to buy a steam machine but I know a lot of people who intend to buy the steam controller. Now this is just my experience in my circles, but I wouldn’t think it’s a rare thing.

7·4 months agoThis is what I’ve been theorizing and hoping would be the case, and I feel like valve deserves a W like that coming in hot when gamers need it most.
The ring was a miniature spinthariscope.
When removing the red cap in a dark room, you could peer into a tiny viewing chamber and see flashes of light caused by alpha particles hitting a zing sulfide screen.
EndeavourOS cause I wanted to instantly hop arch from windows but am also lazy 🦥

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What a joke, can't believe people still voluntarily use this OS
4·4 months agoErmmm that’s really not needed, there are distros that barely require you to ever open the terminal
I have played over a 1000 hours of cyberpunk 2077 during the 5 years it’s been out. It’s the game I always return to, oddly feels like home, like comfort. Very dystopian yes, but such an immersive world to drive around in and complete all the things you can in the game.
Edit: typo

Linux@lemmy.ml•Those who've switched to Linux in the last year, how is it going?
1·4 months agoIt’s been about two months, smooth sailing so far. No regrets. Running EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma, blender, reaper, steam and GoG, discord and a web app to use whatsapp. Have not missed windows one bit. I’m slowly learning more as I go, but so far the much boogified Arch has been easy to get going with Endeavour, and I haven’t run into any unmanageable problems so far.
I simply adore that the only programs on my PC are ones that I want on it.

5·5 months agoArch was described as hard mode but I installed EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma about a month and a half ago and it’s been smooth sailing. Given all the programs I use have native linux clients and I don’t play kernel level anti-cheat games at all.

91·5 months agoWholly depends on the types of games you play, personally I don’t play competetive type online multiplayer games that require kernel level anti-cheat access and as such, I’ve had zero issues with gaming. Running EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma.

3·5 months agoCan personally confirm, linux has been such a blissful experience all the frustration just evaporated, no need for such reckless hate.
For me, my computer is eligible one day, and then incompatible the next. Switchin like that for a couple weeks now. Linux here I come I guess.

101·1 year agoWorthy cause but a slim hope. Everyone who’s been planning to continue supporting Nintendo, and who I have talked about these issues with, most of them echo the sentiments and agree that Nintendo is bad, but go on to say ‘…but in the end, my favorite franchises are exclusive to Nintendo so…’. I fear nothing can make a dent in the nostalgia abuser that is Nintendo, not like this.
Steam deck was the main draw of moving away from windows after the security updates for 10 end in october

Wait, you’re supposed to get married before you do this?
