We have a portable electric for when we travel. It’s not quite as nice as the one at home, but it’s waaay better than not having it.
The one at home is the same or similar to what’s mentioned above (I’m a big fan of the Brondell SS-150/250.) Cheap, simple to install, and removable for when you move. We rent as well. If you can see a little oblong handle on your toilet water supply, you can install it without anyone knowing. If not, try a portable.

Most sources say no. From what I understand, there is a variant in South America that is believed to have been previously passed human to human, but that may be influencing media reports to say it can be rather than differentiating that in most of the world that hasn’t happened.
Edit: I see now that the article talks about the cruise ship having gone to South America. This still wouldn’t necessarily mean that the virus is as transferrable as COVID was, but with the long incubation time, I understand the abundance of caution.
People contract it by breathing in aerosolized fresh rodent feces and urine. It’s rare to begin with. This is very different from Covid in the way it spreads. I agree it’s good to be prepared with ways to limit its mortality rate in affected individuals, but these news articles are whipping up hysteria in a population that just survived a world pandemic of something that was highly communicable. Hantavirus is not.

Compatible isn’t what you think. Phones want to boast about how fast they charge, but that’s not really good for your battery. You may have a phone that does adaptive charging. It’s pulling way less than it advertises so that it can prevent depleting your battery capacity over time.
If the plug fits, you’re fine. It will either charge slower, which helps protect your battery or it’s over what your phone requires, in which case your phone only pulls what it needs. You’ll be fine either way
It probably doesn’t even need to be that extreme. Nobody’s gonna check cameras over this. I go back in when I didn’t get something. I’m polite about it. They’ve never asked for a receipt; they just get the item.
One time I called a fast food place that had a great deal on pimento cheese because I repeatedly got a 15oz serving from them and kept getting shorted by a few ounces. I weighed it at home with the container the last time. I wasn’t rude, nowhere near angry, just had gotten to the point that I needed to bring it to their attention. They told me to come through the drive through and mention the manager’s name and they’d give me a free tub.
You can get a lot farther in customer service by acknowledging that the person you’re talking to is trying to help while expressing things in a way that they can empathize with. You get a lot more through respect and thanking them for helping you.
And if it’s a big corp, as my mother taught me, if you don’t like the customer service agent, hang up and call back.
After Hurricane Helene, her neighbors didn’t have access to the main road. She would not let them drive through her property so that they could park their cars at the road. Linemen came to repair the power lines and needed to open her gate, so she got the sheriff’s dept to come out to ensure her neighbors didn’t drive through while the gate was open.
