I still struggle to understand if these people (Thiel et al.) genuinely believe the “DOOM IS COMING, WE MUST DESTROY THE WORLD TO MAKE GOD HAPPY” stuff, or if they’re just trying to market their grifting to the religious people…

look, we can totally do this. get your grandma’s '97 corolla, throw a few barrels in the trunk and a few on the roof, and get driving. If it runs out of gas, just refine some of the oil and fill up! If it’s due for an oil change, just throw some of the oil in!
