Because Lizardfolk are an evolutionary peak of reptile genetics, whereas dragonborn are an off-shoot of draconic lines; one is a culmination of several key aspects in a single group, and the latter is a hereditary scraping of the barrel.

I hate dragonborn. They are a race created by dragons but they don’t have dark vision or flight? But don’t worry they have shitty breath weapons.
