Funny part is this was probably worth more as individual Disney VHS than the $20 table.
As someone who recently cleared a lot of VHS tapes out of my parents’ old house, most of them aren’t worth nearly as much as people think.
Yeah, I remember like a decade ago, seeing articles about how valuable the Disney VHS tapes were with the black diamond or something on the case. First thought was, “oh, we’ve still got a bunch of those at dad’s place”, second thought was, “oh, this article is probably written by someone who wants to get rid of the Disney VHS tapes they are sitting on and probably just did a high number sale with a friend to trick ‘investors’ into buying their bag”.
It would have been more believable if VHS tapes didn’t degrade to shit so quickly. Data like that needs to be actively maintained, not stored and forgotten while it appreciates in value.
Yeah they pretty much need to be M/NM in box. Those don’t even have the labels anymore.
The plastic in old VHS tapes is pretty flimsy. Like you could crush one with your hand…
Not to mention the impossibility of cleaning anything that spills on it. Tapes aren’t sealed, that rum and coke will now dry inside and stink
I could actually see this in some retro-themed home theater/game room, especially in an older basement

I don’t know what it is with people making tables out of the most random stuff, and sometimes even selling them
Your point is that we should extend it to other furniture as well, right?
Sure, I guess 😅
