Saw this book on some table, wanted an account. Put 2 and 2 together and poof
coco crunchmy username.I was just throwing up names around. Dir En Grey had a song called “Decadence” and they were kind of “rebels” in that they weren’t your usual visual kei band.
When I was making my Lemmy username, I was reminded of Oshi No Ko and KonoSuba so I went with the name “Aqua”. As for the “synonym” part, I saw a Red Skull meme saying that the word “synonym” has no synonym - now I know there is actually a synonym for “synonym” (that’s poecilonym)

Hahahaha! Nice! I think that’s the strength of pancit (canton, bihon, miki, sotanghon, all of them!) It’s very easy to just take whatever’s in your fridge and freestyle it.

But the thread is about people wanting to get an abortion if they knew the child would have a deformity, not if the child was an accident. Contraceptives are irrelevant in that discussion.
Couldn’t agree more, we had a same discussion in 12th grade not directly a deformity but indirectly relates to that too, we talk about gene modification in our biology class all agreed to do so if it will make the lives of offspring easier by decreasing the chances of major deadly diseases, abortion is another matter though but If I’m questioned I’ll abort the baby right away and also if I discover that I’ve gene problem that increases risky diseases that is not curable I’ll decide to not have a baby in my entire lifetime, if you remove ethics and moral dilemmas regarding abortion it’s not that bad actually.
Serious decisions such as those have to be thought out very hard first. I’m for the idea that abortion cannot be used for anything callous or casual, as some freedoms also demand responsibility – I prefer that its utility limited to either a medical emergency, or rape cases.
What if tanggalin na daw yung night shift dito sa work… actually pabor ang mga tao dito. I guess nobody really wants to do night shift. Heck, I don’t like it either. We just make it bearable.
Ang weird pala kapag nagpa check up ka sa workplace mo tapos kilala mo lang yung mga people. What if I was diagnosed with a disease tapos may stigma? What if I just want to keep it private? So weird.
Very tempting din kasi ang shift pay. But do check if your finance can take the hit kapag nawala sya, especially kung sakop mo ng buo yung 10pm-6am.
It is tempting to do day shift. But as a nighter, malapit lang kasi work, so night = less traffic at least most of the time. I’m all for 6 am to 3 pm but the lines man, just parang nakakahinayang lang na nagising ka ng maaga para wala kang kasama, which is exactly what a few thousand people also thought at that moment lol.
Alas, but it is what it is. Do what is best for you, as talagang ymmv whether you want to be a day or night shifter.
I just went on a mini killing spree of cockroaches. Ugh, it was disgusting, but it would’ve been more disgusting if I just let them go. And then I had to clean everything kasi may amoy sila that’s even more annoying i don’t even want to talk about it 😤

That’s actually local, a service called SnackMagic. You have an option to choose two out of many freebies which also includes 6-months Skillshare, 1-year Duolingo, DeleteMe, and Shine. Failed to read na for US lang DeleteMe so hindi ko nagamit. Should have gotten two snackboxes instead, lol.

I’m more than willing to give the developers and contributors a lot of leeway given that I’m convinced that Lemmy (and Kbin for that matter) is woefully unprepared to deal with the flood of users from Reddit and everything that it entails, such as more activity overwhelming not just servers, but also the infrastructure itself.
I’m also severely small-brained to understand a lot of the technical discussion in the thread you’ve linked, but one of the links in that thread lead me to this interesting discussion.
While that kind of drama isn’t really productive (I’d rather that the devs, contributors, instance admins and anyone else in the larger discussion about Lemmy and its infrastructure happening all around us), it’s entertaining to watch and sadly, just reinforces the stereotypes about “nerds not having social skills”.
