The fossil fuel industry funded some of the world’s most foundational climate science as early as 1954, newly unearthed documents have shown, including the early research of Charles Keeling, famous for the so-called ‘Keeling curve’ that has charted the upward march of the Earth’s carbon dioxide levels.
and nothing will happen, they will never be held accountable, and we will all die in 20 years because the models are wrong and most of the planet wont be habitable in our lifetime.
I swear I’ve read this same article 3 times since 2000, something to effect of “yes they knew since at least the 60s, here is internal documentation to that effect”

They had an idea what was happening, but obviously not the technology to prove it. And certainly not a more complete understanding of the consequences. Apparently the concept even went as far back as 1856.
I think it’s the proof part that’s new.
