Yes, the headline has decentralized and messenger in the same sentence. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
I’ve had it installed for a while but never had anyone to message with it :(
What if we created a community for Lemmy users?
Unfortunately it doesn’t support group chats yet. This blog post makes it seem like it’s close though.
Sorry, I forgot that even when I use it sometimes.
I rewrote the comment.

Please do so. I think a jami community is really missing, :)
same lol
I couldn’t get it to work with a contact a few months back. It also does run on some servers: https://jami.net/why-is-jami-truly-distributed/
Another one?
XMPP and matrix.org are better IMHO. Decentralized is not serverless though.
not when it comes to metadata though.(really depends on your threat model and if you are okay with metadata issues from both XMPP and matrix.org)
I hate to say it, but how many times does this wheel need to be reinvented?
Too bad it does not support group chat…
Is there a place where every communities is listed?
Group chat is work in progress. Public groups is mentioned.

Is really nice, I think it is a few featires away from compeating 1v1 with matrix (and XMPP? don’t know, since I didn test it out jist yet)
