Quantumania has received 4 nominations for the dreaded Golden Raspberry awards:
- Michael Douglas for worst supporting actor
- Bill Murray for worst supporting actor
- Worst Sequel
- Peyton Reed for worst director
I disagree about Michael Douglas being the worst supporting actor.
Everything else I’m willing to agree might fit, but Douglas did a fine job. It’s a weak film, so I won’t say he did amazing, but Douglas wasn’t the issue with this film.
Bill Murray was wasted.
The film itself was a setup and let down.
But leave Michael Douglas alone.
“I disagree about”
You’re already giving the Razzies more credit than they deserve. They’re an unpopularity contest and they don’t even pretend otherwise. They just pile on what’s hot.
Yes, but Michael Douglas is a ridiculous pile on.
That’s what they do. They include inflammatory picks to get you to talk about it. Specifically they love to pick good actors in bad movies to cause controversy.
It’s amateur, tabloid, awards that people take too seriously.
They should have stopped after Endgame. Period. Maybe a reboot in ten plus years, but everything after Endgame has been a disappointment.
I liked guardians 3, Wanda Vision, and Loki, but otherwise yeah.
And Guardians 3 was supposed to happen before Endgame, until Disney jumped the gunn by firing James Gunn mid-production. As far as I’m concerned, that was a pre-Endgame movie with a long delayed release and some retcons.
You forgot Shang-Chi
Doctor Strange 2 was everything I wanted out of the first movie.
Both Spider-Man movies that came out afterwards were great too.
Superhero movies were the theme of 2010s. Endgame was the closing of a genre IMO. 2020 came with covid and nothing really good has come out since.
I do look forward to dune part2 though.
The second wave is going to start with Deadpool 3 next year. It’s going to kick off X-Men, Fantastic Four, Blade, and Secret Wars.
I gotta say, Multiverse of Madness was REALLY good. Other than that, Guardians 3, Wandavision, Loki and Love and Thunder (I know it wasn’t liked, but I enjoyed it), I really haven’t enjoyed Marvel.
Okay fine fine fine, but apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, the roads, education, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us??
Yeah it seems pretty obvious they’re trying new things on purpose before going whole hog on the tried-tested-and-true characters they just got back.
I think it’s smart to work on lesser known characters and experiment before using secret wars to pick and choose what to keep.
Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool is a no-brainer to keep if RR wants to keep doing Deadpool, so he’s the first step towards merging all the cinematic universes.
There’s been some misses, but there always were and I’m willing to cut them some slack due to the covid interruptions and everything else.
