Yeah fat animals just make me a bit sad somehow; a cat that obese probably won’t be able to clean itself properly anymore, let alone do standard cat stuff like jump around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree. And yes yes I know some might have a disease or disorder that causes the obesity (hell, even this fatty kitty might have something), but let’s face it: that’s probably not the majority of the chonks you see online. I know people mean well and they very rarely overfeed and under-exercise their pet out of any sort of malice, so it’s not like I think they’re terrible humans because their pet is fat, but I just wish people were a bit more informed about their furry little companions / freeloaders (whom we all love dearly anyhow)

Yep, and it doesn’t help that so many people have a skewed idea of what the healthy weight for pets looks like. So many of my friends have been accused of starving their pets just because their pets aren’t fat. Like yes, you should be able to see a cat or dogs hips.

If you feed your pet into obesity you are a shitty person and an animal abuser.

Obese pets aren’t cute, they’re horrifying.

I currently have three of these. I will never have all four unless I have been tasked with fixing a problem. That first cat is the victim of animal abuse. That’s not a stage. That’s animal cruelty.
