Not sure who was making this one? Thanks to Goddess for doing the last couple.

    biscuits

waiting at my desk for 10 whole minutes
for my oven to ding telling me it’s done with it
In the distance I hear parties and pounding bass tracks
but I’m at home, warm and toasty, baking my midnight snacks
warm shortbread cookies with a caramel filling
cut shapes in the tops if you’re able and willing
a delicious treat made with butter and dreams
and the magic of premade caramel creme

G’day again DT peeps! So, the steam “summer” sales are coming up at the end of the month (AKA the time I can spend a shitton of money on games and not feel bad). My Steam library feels a little lacking, does anyone have any suggestions? My only thing is I’m not big into shooters or survival type games. But I’d love some reccos!

Have you played Unpacking yet? It’s an Australian-made game that’ll take you about 4 - 5 hours to complete. It’s been my favourite casual game for the past few years. Very sweet little game.

I’ll second the recommendation for Divinity Original Sin 2, and I’ll add to that the amazing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (fun mechanics & story! good lgbtq rep!), and the upcoming Baldurs Gate 3 (which has its full release in August). Rimworld is also an absolutely mad game that you can do just about anything in. Hit MMO Final Fantasy XIV has a steam version, but be warned - it has the best story I’ve ever played through in entirety, it’s very long, and it’s very, very, good. If you have an addictive personality, maybe handle that recommendation with care.

Have you played any of the Dragon Age games? They’re all fantastic. Inquisition usually goes on sale for like $15.

Dorfromantik is another really chill casual game I like. You place hexes good. Yep.

Thanks for the reccos! Unpacking looks pretty chill, on the wishlist! Divinity doesn’t seem like my type of game (I don’t really like RPGs either for the most part), same with Pathfinder. Rimworld I see recommended everywhere (along with Rust and factorio). Rimoworlds graphics remind me a lot of Prison Architects (from a quick look at the trailer). Never played dragon age

Dorfromantik (holy hell I’m never gonna remember how to spell that) looks quite good though! I’m a little on the fence about it, but the graphics look beautiful and they have trains! Trains = automatic buy (well, not quite, but close to it)

        Thanks again for the reccos!

Hm, let me poke you on that, actually! When you say you don’t like RPGs - what have you previously tried? DOS2 et al, as CRPGs, are quite different to ARPGs. If you’re not used to them, don’t bother with the recommendations for Pillars of Eternity or Pathfinder - but I’d genuinely consider trying Divinity: Original Sin 2. It’s got very simple combat (which you can make easier/harder as you like) that’s very fun, and it’s turn-based. So instead of having to run in and deal with a chaotic mess, you can think your way through with some level of strategy.

All good! I’ve been thinking on this (I wasn’t just ignoring you!) over the last few hours, and I don’t think I have tried any specifically (I’ve gotten various RPGs through free sales on Steam/Epic before and have probably opened a couple, but I couldn’t name them if I tried). But just looking at the store pages, it doesn’t really appeal to me much. I’m probably an oddity though

Genuinely would be a good idea to try. Dos2 in particular is a very comedic game, so it’d be a fun shout!
