After the EU and US failed to agree aid packages, we must send a clear message to regimes waging wars

    top US officials fear that setting such a precedent would deter other countries from depositing their funds at the New York Federal Reserve or holding them in dollars.

    So in other words, the US is worried that the next time they invade a country on extremely flimsy pretenses, someone will do this to them.

    And no, before anyone gets any bright ideas, I’m not pro-Russia, and I’m fully in favor of seizing their assets.

        Yeah they probably shouldn’t, but they’re going to anyhow because it’s a great distraction from all the shit they have going on otherwise. At least they’re less about straight-up imperialism nowadays like occupying a country permanently, or just rolling in and genociding the locals because fuck them, and more about fucking up some brown peasants and “terrorists” Somewhere Far Away so they can justify their outsized military somehow.

        Well, at least that outsized military has done a lot to help keep Ukraine supplied (although I’m sure some Americans think they’re the only ones doing anything).
