Hello, very noob question but: I am missing quite a few niche subreddits here. I can create them as magazines just fine but I do not have the time to be a moderator of one or more of them. Can they be created as unmoderated or is there a way to announce that “magazine x is looking for a new mod” and give moderation powers to a volunteer?
@Fiddler That’s really not a good idea. Unfourtauntly we need to hope this catches on. Some subreddit mods are now running both their subs, and Lemmy/Kbin. We need to encourage more of that until this place catches on
@WonkoTheSane My idea was to be able to nudge people over there to come here with “hey, there’s already a magazine there”.
@Fiddler Yea, and I understand that. I’m just worried about abuse turning people off if they come here and everything is poorly moderated.

Being real, it’s hobby to be a while before moderating niche c/ forums on lemmy/kbin is going to be a time intensive thing. On reddit, two subs are all I could realistically handle and do the job right. I’m the fediverse, I have three, and they take no time at all because there’s not enough traffic to generate enough issues to need attention.
But yeah, there does need to be a LFMod community somewhere. I’m just not sure which instance is going to be ideal for it
