So I’ve bought the emergency beacon thing from the scrap dealer, found the derelict freighter during a pulse drive, and boarded. Used the terminal, snagged the emergency supplies, and then unsealed the door. Alarm sounds, temperature drops, i walk up to the door and… nothing?

I see a counter that says something like “access requested: further authentication required” and it just counts up seemingly without end. Nothing to interact with on the door itself, scanning with the visor just shows a door icon that i can tag but nothing else.

I’ve tried quitting and reloading multiple times, and warping to different systems, with the same result.

M1 MacBook playing the steam version, fully updated.

I’ve seen a couple similar questions on steam forums with no answer, and I’ve submitted a help request through Zendesk, just wondering if anyone here has any ideas? Thanks!

This definitely sounds like a bug, especially that it’s happening in multiple systems. Iirc, the derelict freighter generation is locked to the seed of the system it loads into; so if something had bugged on that particular freighter, it would be wildly improbable to occur elsewhere.

Every now and then a der. freighter is bugged in some way eg a blocked corridor, but this doesn’t sound like that. You’ve done all you can so far really, I would explore other game systems until the next patch drops… and not to build expectations, but the NMS team are incredibly responsive to bug reports. You prob won’t hear from them, but it will prob be patched soon (check the notes for subsequent updates)

At least a couple times I’ve stood there and watched the counter run down and the door not open. When it’s happened I’ve just interacted with the terminal again, sometimes multiple times, and eventually whatever was delaying the door opening animation would catch up and it’d open.
