Please phil I’m begging you to shut the fuck up. You fell to the ground after kicking Jon Moxley once and then started a shitfit against the elite for no reason.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Punk. I’m hoping that he’s a smart business man and all this anti-elite crap is just to set up a feud, because that would be awesome. If he’s sincere and this literally tears AEW apart, I’m going to hate him until his final day. As for the bag, it’s his world title belt. He said he never lost it and it’s his until someone beats him.

CM Punk trying to spin the existing and upcoming polarising reactions as a positive. Straight from the John Cena handbook.

Also a shame to see him continue to throw shade at The Elite while trying to stay face, it was a squandered opportunity to move on. Still, by far the best promo in the company, if he turns heel and ultimately gets people over it’ll be a master stroke, but as face this is kind of a slap in the face to the rest of the roster that don’t publicly shit on their colleagues at every opportunity.

That was a great first show!

Ignoring the absolute bait of a promo CM Punk cut at the start of the show, the only actual nitpicks I have are very stupid.

    • I feel that Elton John song is too upbeat for the graphics, which look like they were cut for a more aggressive late 90’s RAW metal intro or something.
    • On the FITE stream I was surprised that Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness basically sat out during the picture in picture segments, I guess they were just using the time to revise notes for their next segments and the back-and-forth banter will come in time. Maybe Excalibur just makes the job look too easy? :P
