I know lemmy.world has some bugs to be ironed out, but admins, can you guys please restart the server? From what I understand it’s mainly the Hot sorting that is bugged, and apparently a server restart will temporarily fix it. However, the Active tab is bugged for me too. And sorting by new doesn’t really bring up the results I’d like to see, personally.

I’m not trying to be negative, and I apologize. But at this point it’s getting frustrating. On both Active and Hot, the only posts showing up are 3+ days old. Come on guys. I personally feel like if we want to attract users and make this place usable, having those sorting working is kind of essential.

    It’ll get fixed soon enough it sounds like. But I’ve been gone browsing by New most of the day and then periodically switching to All->Top of Day

    I agree, the “Hot” bug needs fixed ASAP. Be nice to also get more sort options like “best” and “rising.”

    Restarting would be a temporary fix, and it would probably also fix the other bug where submitted posts just sit there. Maybe there is just too much growth right now.

    I usually search for good content by ‘all’ and ‘Top daily’ and I’m pretty happy with it. There’s occasionally a bug which loads a few wrong posts, but nothing too bad for me.

    Yeah Active and Hot have become basically completely not useful for me. They just show old posts. And new doesn’t show what I’d want either since it doesn’t show posts with lots of activity and it shows a bunch of random stuff. Active has seemed to just show old stuff for the entire time I’ve been on Lemmy. Hot used to be better but Hot seems to have become more static as well for some reason.

    Hopefully this can be fixed and these modes and how they display content updated because I think this has a major impact on Lemmy’s ability to be a Reddit alternative if the main feeds just have the same old posts in them forever.

    Kbin seems to not have this issue in the same way. I prefer the Lemmy interface otherwise though, so I hope this can be improved on Lemmy, but otherwise it’s shifting my use over to kbin when I want to browse.

    And when I switch from Local to All, the thing just keeps slapping stories onto the top of the feed while I’m trying to read, makes the site impossible to use.

    Definitely needs a fix!

    It annoyed me such much that I checked out and moved to Kbin. No matter what instance of Lemmy I was using I had the same issue you are experiencing. Everything has been working great over here so far!
