Yea I pretty much agree, they probably didn’t have enough people to arm with butterknives to host their instance the way they wanted to, so they felt they had to go nuclear. It would be nice if there was an option to defederate in a way that other instances could still view and subscribe to your content though. I don’t want to use a separate account or go to another website just to see what’s going on in !neurodivergence@beehaw.org
