For those trying to find a new home after Reddit decided to close their API and r/bitcoin went blank, let’s try see if we can make this our new home.
I think some people downvote because they hate Bitcoin. Not me. I’ve been in Bitcoin for a long time. I am a believer. If you don’t like Bitcoin, then don’t hang out here.

r/bitcoin has six million followers. Way more than the entire threadiverse. Seek out communities you support. Avoid those you don’t, but talk of ‘forking’ is just dumb. It will bring development to a halt, mess up branding and complicate the message to #redditfugees.
No forking going on, just creating a place for people that want to get off reddit to have a place to post and read #bitcoin content… Not tryna force anything.

IDK but it’s super rude lol. Even if you’re a centralized FED lover you should still support new users/subs coming to Lemmy. I can’t stand communism but I’m still upvoting posts just for the sake of spreading some Lemmy love!

Lemmy’s lead devs are tankies. There are rumblings about forking it, and some instances defederate from the tankie ones.
