Talks between the Gunners and Man City are progressing, and Arsenal will lodge their first bid of £35m sometime next week.

It was previously reported that City were looking for at least £50m for Cancelo.

The Portuguese international will help take Arsenal’s back line to the next level.

However it is yet to be seen if City would be willing to do business with Arsenal again following the huge successes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko

I can’t see this happening, especially with us hovering around Gundogan too. In fact wasn’t there a board level directive to not let any more players come to us? I remember reading about that.

I’m more worried that we’re trying to create a man city rivalry through man city cast offs.

I get Jesus wanted a bigger role and zinchenko has been replaced by a change in system but Cancelo being passed over by both City and Bayern isnt a great endorsement.

Bayern didn’t want to pay 70m for him but he started most of the matches for them this season. Reason he was loaned out was because he fell out with Pep. Might be worrying but it’s certainly not a talent issue, just maybe an attitude one.

Gundogan is on a free so not up to City, if City want Cancelo out then they might have to accept our bid, Barca have no money.
