Honestly, can someone tell me what the point of a 2 day blackout is? Like if you’re really all about getting the point across, why would you not just go balls to the wall and go dark indefinitely until change? All a 2-day blackout is (in my opinion) is just virtue signaling to say we oppose what you’re doing but ultimately I’m too addicted to ever quit

Inertia means most people don’t *want* to move elsewhere. A longer blackout would just result in people scattering all over the place.A short blackout keeps the community together, while also showing reddit what could happen if they don’t change their mind.
So, less "virtue signalling"🙄and more of a two-fingered salute.

Don’t know how things work on lemmy, but you should be able to scrape all the content from /r/gunners with a webscraper that runs on a cronjob
