Hey all Gosha here and I made an account just for this community.
Idk if I’m recognisable enough for others to recognise but I posted a Keisuke = Scott the Woz meme yesterday and this post’s title is a reference to that I suppose.
Hopefully either:
- Reddit backpedals with their nonsense (unlikely) and it’s all well and good
- Lemmy gets popular enough for it to be a common alternative to Reddit (and we had the same amount of adachi memes as before or whatever)
For now let’s just keep posting memes here so it doesn’t die immediately and there’s actually a reason for people to join
Welcome! Glad to see you around! A big reason behind this is precisely because I want to keep up with all my fellow shitposters. Paradoxically, the okbp user base has been a thousand times more pleasant than the larger groups lmao
Edit: Also if anyone has a better community image (the banner stays or I’m driving to your house to invoke your persona) just hmu
whether it’s normal or insane people doesn’t matter as much as sub size. There’s even the odd chance lemmy will get worse just from more people, but considering you actually need reading comprehension to join and post on this site (why do I need do use a seperate website to look this comm\sublemmy up?) it’ll probably take more than on Reddit
In fact I might actually keep using Reddit (along lemmy) for the smaller subs who didn’t blackout, probably because, well, I assume the moderators don’t have many problems on their hands.
(There’s so many game communities that would have to start from scratch too…)
Yeah I’m still figuring out how to make this discoverable across instances. So far I’ve got it to work in .ml and .world but not the others. Based on a quick chat with site devs we just need people from other instances to join or else the site slowly populates the communities across them
Lmao agree. Wouldn’t normally expect an “okbuddy” community to be saner than whatever it makes fun of, but here we are
