Originally established by moderators of r/Philippines as a short term Reddit alternative in response to the blackouts, it quickly took on a life of its own and now operates as a permanent separate community.
Members refer to themselves as either “lemmings”, “lemons” or the few punny titles with an interesting backstory (“sinuka ng Reddit”) such as “phlemmys” and “phlemmings”.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
Yeah, that is quite a reasonable decision, and I guess a win-win for both communities, since Reddit refugees who are aligned to their views, guided from /r/PH to the /r/PH version in Raddle, could simply hop over and join them if they (the refugees) so desire.
