Last year, I developed a fascination with tourbillons. Considering their often hefty price tags, I never anticipated owning one. However, fate had other plans when the YouTube algorithm placed a video featuring a $500 tourbillon on my feed. Intrigued, I delved deeper and found that the watch was actually only 199 direct from China. I ended up impulsively purchasing the watch pictured here.
I don’t expect it to last forever. Upon close examination, the imperfections in the finishing are easy to spot and it’s evident that a few shortcuts were taken in its production. Also, given what I’ve since learned about Chinese labor practices, I probably wouldn’t make the same purchase again. Nevertheless, despite its flaws, it’s the only watch I’ve worn that has garnered any real attention and prompted someone to mention it. The sparkly dial draws attention.
Even though it looks nice, I’m not particularly fond of wearing metal bracelets, so I’m open to suggestions regarding alternative strap options. Do any of you have ideas or recommendations? I’d love to hear them!
A jubilee similar to the one in the video or a dark brown alligator straps would be fine as well.
