A collector’s piece, only ~13k were built of those ~900 were in this nickeled finish. This 10 rd blowback .22 was made of the space age material aluminum, resulting in it weighing 23 ounces (650 g).
damn i’m not a gun guy but this is epic
You don’t gotta be a gun person to enjoy shooting or even looking at one.
Don’t let those hateful gun nuts completely spoil you when it comes to firearms.
We don’t claim them. If you see anyone being hateful here tag me and they’ll get booted. -mod
Good to know, I just found this sub from this post. subscribed
I agree.
I admit myself as a complete gun nut in the sense I respect the inginuity and engineering effort put into these machines.
My country is very restrictive with guns, so I have never shot one, but I would gladly pay to go to a shooting range to just make some noise and put holes and dents into inanimate objects.
Guns should be toys for “big boys”, not instruments of gratuitous destruction.
(I used the expression because it ryhms)
If I was ever going to open carry this would go in my smooth leather holster and I’d start telling the Starbucks cashier my name was Captain Atomic
Man designers in the 50s were next level, everything had a futuristic sleek design to it.
There’s a term for dated futuristic aesthetic, called “zeerust”.
Curious how much they are if anyone is selling.
Looks like one usual comes up for auction about once ever month. Seems like they go $1,200-$1,700 for blued and ~$2,150 for nickeled but occasionally a blued one will get sold for under $1,000.
Do you have a link to any recent auction or are these not online auctions?
Here’s one: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1005780904
& here’s a collection of the prices several went for individually: https://truegunvalue.com/pistol/whitney-wolverine/price-historical-value
Looks like it belongs in Archer
I was thinking Austin Powers
What a beautiful gun
Now this is what pistols in sci-fi games should look like (also, Laugo Alien). I’m sick of the silly trend of futuristic sci-fi pistols putting the magazine in front of the trigger and leaving no room for the chamber, not to mention zero possible barrel length and having horrible balance.
And if they’re going to put the magazine well in front, at least they should be consistent and have super-ergonomic pistol grips like revolvers tend to have.
Pretty ergonomic little lightweight .22.
Wow, now that’s a sleek design!
That exact version is one my fantasy list! As in, “If you could get gifted any gun…”
