I love the article summarization but if I choose to read an article there is no in browser reader mode?
Your browser can already do that though
True, but most other Lemmy apps, give you the option to just automatically open the article in Reeder mode.
Going through old mentions…
Do you have an example?
I think Mlem lets you go directly to reader mode.
Mlem doesn’t have this option just yet, but we’re adding it the next beta. Memmy and Arctic have had it for a while.
Adding such an option is very easy to do for iOS apps - Apple provides a simple API for it, so we just have to add a settings toggle. I’m not familiar with how it works in Android development, but it may be more complicated.
Is that what the link handling in-app vs external browser does? Settings shortcut: Link handling > Default browser
Mine is set to default browser, but there are options (if I’m understanding correctly)
What I meant is that you can’t browse post in reader mode with any of the options provided. (I think). Summary view is awesome but that is not reader mode.
Ohhh, I see. Yeah, that’s definitely different from what I understood. I don’t have any answer for that then

I think the thing most often suggested, in that case, would be to suggest/request it on GitHub. @ljdawson@lemmy.world doesn’t seem to be active on Lemmy atm, so that seems like the best suggestion to give.
