It’s an old picture, before AI image generation. It’s a tiger teddy with some stuffing removed.

Ha, I see that now. I hope AI models aren’t trained on this photo as if it’s a normal tiger…

I’m excited for the pipeline of AI art to ai 3D models to AI generic recreation of extinct animals, and distant humans having pet tigers who looked like this.

Imagine blade runner but the replicant animals look like something between medieval art and poor AI image generation, because those are the only surviving reference images.

I really dislike the caltrop d4s. Numbering styles aside, they just roll so poorly compared to all other polyhedral dice. I really wish that either “crystal” style or “wormhole” style d4s become more commonplace.

You could make the bottom one work quite easily by just choosing the number that’s NOT visible on an upward face.

This “quite easily” is >3 times as much work as reading one number on top, because 1-2 faces will be pointed away from you.

What matters is effort per roll compared to the top image, not effort per roll compared to making a sushi roll.

Yeah, WTF is with the die in the right middle, and right bottom? Garbage plastic for landfills.

right middlel: you determine the value rolled based on the number on the bottom.

right bottom: you determine the value rolled by deciding which number you like best.

If the middle one’s numbers all match for their adjacent face, it’s still usable. You can designate the bottom number to be the selected number, since there’s only one side facing down (just as there’s only one point facing up).

The bottom one sucks because you’d need to arbitrarily deciding which upward side to choose from.

I really like the middle one better. I find it easier to read the numbers when they’re printed on the edge rather than the border of the triangle and find it easier to read the bottom side rather than the top corner. I’m pretty sure that’s the only kind of d4 I’ve ever owned.
